Year of the Rabbit- Lunar New year

Lunar New Year 2023 unfolds in Patricia’s home, where she prepares for the Year of the Rabbit alongside her grandchildren. A celebration layered with heritage, symbolism and treasured family rituals. The tablescape is a rich composition of antique, heirloom and contemporary pieces, thoughtfully arranged to honour tradition.

At the heart of the setting hangs the Fortuny Silk Concubine pendant, casting a warm, luminous glow that anchors the table below. Patricia layers a vintage bone pagoda and Antique Ashworth plates with Williams Sonoma gold chargers, weaving together eras, cultures and textures with effortless harmony. Pottery Barn red linen napkins, red glass votives and berry branches introduce auspicious red tones, complemented by gold coasters that bring understated lunar luxury.

Miniature replica roof tiles purchased on a trip to China, from the Forbidden City Museum Store, sit playfully among handmade brass chopsticks from Vietnam. Subtle nods to craftsmanship and Asian design history. An antique Japanese brass altar candlestick adds sculptural depth, while an antique altar cloth, Ikat textiles and lacquer bowls from Patricia’s personal collection complete the composition.

An auspicious celebration of renewal, abundance and artistry.
